Timetable

Our work is focused on the bundled knowledge transfer on the one hand as well as on education itself in the lessons. The teaching follows the timetable 2 which emphasizes particularly special lessons. The offer of foreign languages includes English (obligatory first foreign language from 5 th grade on), French or Latin (one of these being obligatory second language from 6 th grade on). Further, the pupils can choose Spanish, French or Latin new as third foreign language from 10 th (11 th) grade on, provided there being free capacities.

Beside these special lessons, the educational mandate of the grammar school covers the transfer of a broad and deep general knowledge as well as the support of autonomous learning and working with scientific procedures. In addition, the study groups, cooperating with sports clubs, offer the possibility of finding one’s individual focus of interest. This constitutes an important and valuable completion of the school’s course program. The regular participation in competitions and tournaments on the fields of science, math and sports shows how successful the work in these study groups is. This can also be seen in the presentations of the pupil’s musical and artistic skills in concerts of choirs and music groups, as well as in theatre performances

The timetable of the 5 th and 6 th grades provides one extra hour a week (so-called “Verfügungsstunde”) including free time which the pupils spend with their class teacher.

For the 5 th and 6 th grades each the “KKG” offers a theatre class. The timetable of these classes implies one extra hour a week.

Another specialty of our school is a seminar of prevention for pupils of the 9 th grade, being called “Präventionsseminar”. Before taking part, the pupils had already learned about this topic at a prevention day while being at the 8 th grade.
